Two Ways To Seal Your Concrete

1. Permanently

2. Temporarily

1. Permanently

Applying a high-quality penetrating sealer is a perfect solution for the property owner who wants sealing done only once – and never has to do it again. CDS calls it the “One and Done” sealing application. The advantages to this “one and done” process are eliminating having to reapply sealer ever again and at the same time achieving a non-slip surface in wet and dry conditions, making your concrete surfaces much safer. All of these are well worth it for the conservative owner who wants a job done once and for all.

2. Temporarily

Applying a topical sealer that gives the concrete surface a glossy finish is the more traditional concrete sealing process. This type of finish brings out the depth of the colors that are naturally dyed into the concrete and makes the surface much more vibrant and brilliant. The disadvantage to this type of topical sealer is that it has to be repeated every few years because of ultraviolet light exposure that breaks down the topical sealer product. This can become very unsightly making the surface look aged and aesthetically displeasing. Other things to consider when applying a topical sealer are the risks of creating a slippery surface, especially when it is wet.

Which One Should You Choose?

Easy…

If you want absolutely no maintenance, you choose the “One and Done” Permanent Penetrating Sealer.

If you want that pretty shiny look and don’t mind the repeated maintenance, choose the Temporary Topical Sealer.
